I really like your new look website – and I really appreciate the way you work so damned hard to keep us blues fans up-to-date with what’s happening in the blues world.
Just a query (not a gripe!): On the old Blueswax site you had pages on albums and artists. It might just be my impatience (or more likely my incompetence), but I can’t find those on your new website. Is there a reason for that – or, is it just me? Or is it just too hard to keep up-to-date?
Regards,
Lex Borthwick
(By the way, as an Aussie, I was wondering if you’ve ever reviewed Orianthi – or is she not regarded as a blues artist?)
Hi Lex,
Good query, we are working on merging the 2 sites information, seeing as we have 10 years of weekly articles it will take some time . BluesWax is still up and can be accessed during this migration. The address is http://www.BluesWax.com. Passing your question regarding Orianthi on to our editors as be it senior moment or weakening grey matter syndrome cannot remember if we have ever reviewed her.
I have some nice pictures of Tinsley Ellis playing at Chans in Woonsocket Rhode Island.
how do I get them to the photo editor…
I also have a few of walter Trout as well
if you guys are interested..
thanks for looking

I do not mean to make any direct personal attacks to the editor(s) of Blues Revue which is no doubt my favorite magazine, but I must inform you that reading Blues Revue over the last several months has been bothersome.
Now, understand that I am not an Emglish major nor do I work in publishing. I am what I would say is your typical subscriber and while reading Blues Revue I have seen so many errors which I believe should have been caught and corrected by your editorial staff that I have to wonder if there IS an editorial staff?
Certainly my comments may seem petty and maybe they are! I do have to say something though, because sometimes when I read Blues Revue I actually have had trouble comprehending what I am reading due to errors. Other times errors may just be typos and in both cases I think to myself that these should have been caught before going to print.
In fact, I just told my wife that when I begin reading the next issue (which just arrived) I am going to read it with a highlighter in hand so I can find the errors quickly afterwards, should anyone at Blues Revue be interesed in my findings.
I don’t expect this letter to be published, but should you decide to, please have an editor go over it prior to doing so… I am not perfect either!
Jim,
I have expressed the same concern but to no avail. Actually, I did get a response but was told that no one pays attention to grammar anymore so it was not a big deal.
Interesting that you have not received a reply from anyone on staff regarding your concern.
Well at least YOU have responded and I thank you for that!
I don’t know if anyone cares or not, but you would think that one of the largest, if not THE largest Blues mags would want to pay attention to these kind of things so they can remain at the top.
I also find it interesting that I notice this just after renewing my subsctiption for another 3 years…
I will keep on reading, but likely scratching my head more as I do!
Hey Norm, we are trying to bring all the pieces together. Keep checking back, there’s 10 years of articles, reviews, photos to move too, we feel like the blues hoarders!
Seems this is the only link i can use to reach you guys,so here goes.
I’ve been unable to take the quiz for the last couple of weeks as it keeps showing as already taken when i know full well i didn’t. Can you please fix that?
Thanx.
