Very difficult choice…their are just so many “cracking” albums listed(and a few I’ve yet to hear)but ended up selecting 4 that have been consistently on my personal playlist over the last few months.
Tell us about it! We loved listening to them all though.
VOTE FOR MY GIRL CHRISSIE!!
Nice!
Blues Rulz!
Damn Right!
Albert Castiglia is one of if not the BEST Guitarist I have ever witnessed! He feels every note! He deserves to win! Good Luck Albert if your reading this! You Rock!
)
Dianne from Buckingham!
Had the pleasure of seeing him play twice at The Daytona Beach Blues Festival this year and it was a PLEASURE!
I agree. Not only a great guitar slinger but a great singer as well.
Dave Weld and The Imperial Flames are the hardest working blues bands I’ve every seen. I’ve seen them play at festivals, fancy restaurants, small bars, theaters and the list goes on, but they always seem to give all that they have no matter where they play. I am hoping they win this contest, cause I really think they deserve it!
Way to go Marshall Lawrence, great to see a good friend on the list.
I’m for Marshall Lawrence…doctor of the blues
What kind of calendar does a musician use for his gigs? “Year-at-a-glance”!
I hope you will consider voting for Murali Coryell and Joe Louis Walker.
I did vote for you. I own Sugar Lips and saw you with Joe in Provence, France last year. Also in Charleston, SC about 10 years ago. Wait to hear you again.
I’m sorry for “Mothersday”.
i did vote for you!!!
Hey what about the todd wolfe band for “stripped down at the bang palace”? i see you have their ad for the new dvd on this site
Go !!!!!
Chrissie O’Dell & One Hot Mess
Vote for Chris O’Leary! They are the best new roots band out there. He was great with Levon Helm, now with his own band ,he has taken it to a whole new level. The performances are stellar and the songwriting is great. The cd is sure to be nominated for awards.
We absolutely adore reading through your site posts, the variety of composing is actually smashing. This web site because usual was educational, I’ve had to save your site and sign up for your own feed within ifeed. Your own theme appears lovely.
i everyone, and I really think I am lucky to be in this contest, we worked for about 10 years on our Delmark debut “Burnin’ love”, and it did not take wings until the great Bob Koester and Steve Wagner, of Delmark, had enough faith in us to sign us, and within 8 month’s, it was done! Our thanks go to Delmark, and we love to be in the blues community, where we have artists and fans we all really care about, it’s a real cultural, and wonderful community. I also want to thank Blues Revue for the wonderful revue! Please consider a vote for our dream, Delmark’s
“Burnin love”, from Dave Weld and the Imperial Flames, with special guest Lil ED!
Dave
Hey Dave,
We greatly enjoyed your Friday night show at Duke’s! Every show we’ve seen has been spectatular and we hope “Burn Love” wins! We’re listening to it now!!!
Rob Paparozzi–Just listen and vote for him. The best!
Rob is Awesome!
If you want the real deal Chicago Blues, you want the one and only Chris James and Patrick Rynn. Chris’ guitar reigns supreme and Patrick’s bass lines will blow you away. Check them out on their newest CD “Gonna Boogie Anyway”. They DON’T disappoint!
When is Blues Revue going to do something useful for teh industry and publish a charting service from blues DJ’s? Living Blues does it so why not a publication like Blues Revue?
It would be more benficial than some High School popularity contest.
Hi James,
We leave the charting to Living Blues because they have the interns to handle such a task. We felt that we better serve the bands by giving them a 3 page ad (Value $6000) in each issue of Blues Revue and creating some incredible exposure. The bands reviewed in the last issue are voted on by the fans and the 4 bands with the most votes win, however all the bands in the contest appear on page 1 of the ad and the winners on page 2-3. So far we have had some relatively unknown bands win and that’s very cool. Their are plenty of others doing charts, we prefer to spend the money on the bands directly, they sure seem to appreciate this. Thank you for your comment and support.
How cool!!! Always happy to get new music! Congratulations to all the winners! And to all the rest of the contestants….it was really hard to just pick three out of all the amazing music! Thanks for keeping the Blues alive!!!
Chrissie! Albert! I love you both! Congratulations!!!
