Winter BluesFest in Central Iowa 1.03.11

The great folks at the Central Iowa Blues Society, based in Des Moines, Iowa, will be holding its annual Winter BluesFest on Saturday, January 29, at the Downtown Marriott in Des Moines. They will host ten acts on six different stages. The event will culminate with an After Hours Jam in the hotel ballroom.
Things will kick off with a pre-fest party in the lobby with Bad Luck City at 5 p.m. and then music will fill the hotel at 7 p.m. The Most Handsome Duo in the World, Kilborn Alley Blues Band, Bob Pace Band featuring Steve E. George, Curtis Marlatt & The Kicks, Mary Bridget Davies Band, The Steady Rollin’ Blues Band, Alvin Jett & The Phat Noiz, and Scott Holt Band.
Trouble No More will kick off the After Hours Jam at 12:30 a.m. The Jam will last well into the wee hours.
Wristbands for the event are only $12 in advance and will give you admission to all of the Ballrooms, as well as Rock River Lounge. Tickets are available online at www.cibs.org now. The price will be $15 on January 29.
