A couple of weeks ago on the Photo Page, we shared some of Aigars Lapsa’s great shots of Colin Linden of Canada and of Igor Prado from Brazil (check your back pages). We were impressed when Aigars told us that, perhaps for the first time in the history of the blues that the festival’s goal was to feature blues acts from all continents united at one festival: Asia (India), South America (Brazil), Europe (Denmark, Germany, Poland, and Sweden), North America (US, Canada), Africa (Cameroon and Morocco), and Australia. The world comes closer through the blues! Thanks Eutin for that great effort.
On this week’s Photo Page, we share some of Aigars’ photos of Soulmate from India. Soulmate is quickly gaining an international reputation with their rocking and swinging blues. They have played throughout Asia, and in the United States and France. They have also competed in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and opened for Buddy Guy and Shemekia Copeland.
The band is fronted by the charismatic Tipriti “Tips” Kharbanger and guitarist Rudy Wallang II. They are back by keyboardist Raveen Panday, bassist Leon Wallang, and drummer Sam Shullai.
As always, our photographers share their work with you for your enjoyment. If you wish to share them or use them for any other purpose, please contact the photographer or our office.
Enjoy!
