Rev,

Your column is the only reason I read BluesWax. You've always got something good, whether it's something I already know and love (like this Dorothy Love Coates disc) or something I've never heard before (like the Screaming Gospel Holy Rollers discs). Just ordered the Patsy Cline set and can't wait to hear it. Keep up the great work!

BTW, 'Roberta' still brings a smile to my face every time I even think about it.

I was a student at Riverside City College the weekend of the TAMI show. Some of my acquaintances had tickets and the following Monday the rest of us asked them about the show. All they could talk about was James Brown's portion. The question came up about who followed James Brown and the consensus was 'Some group from England. They weren't much.' I guess Keith Richards had the right of it.

Thanks, Billy, for turning me on to this awesome voice. What a God given talent. What God driven music. I am not a religious man, but I recognize a force of nature when I hear it.
