If my history is correct, I would like to see something written and given credit to the predecessor of all “guitar girls,” (the very first female guitarist of “rock and soul,” Barbara Lynn. When you dive into the history of where this all starts, Barbara Lynn paved the way by establishing also the first all female band, then known as “Bobby Lynn & The Idols. She was awarded a Pioneer’s Award for uncredited and unrewarded achievements in music. She is presently known as the “Queen Of Gulf Coast Soul. She was also chronicled in “Rolling Stone” magazine and there was to be an up-coming “Legends Tour.” I am not sure what happened to that, but she definitely deserves the attention that has bypassed her for decades.
