“Intoxicated”

From The Album
From Detroit To The Delta
James Montgomery Band

Growing up in Detroit, James Montgomery learned
first-hand from the masters — James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, and Jr. Wells. Ever since his 1973 Capricorn Records debut he’s been a vital presence in the Blues and one of its most dynamic performers.

On his latest album James traces his musical roots From Detroit To The Delta, along with his great band and very special guests Johnny Winter, Aerosmith’s Joey Kramer, Brad Whitford, James Cotton, The Uptown Horns, and seminal rapper DMC.

Montgomery’s journey pays respect to many styles of the Blues, from urban streets to Mississippi mud.

“Lifetime Prescription”
From The Album Have Axe – Will Groove
Mark Robinson

Mark Robinson’s debut album Quit Your Job – Play Guitar ignited like the first blast of a fireworks display, promising even more exciting, incendiary things to come. Disc Jockeys quickly embraced it; About.com Blues, Blues Underground Network and BluesVan branded it one of 2010′s best.

Now Have Axe – Will Groove provides an even more colorful, explosive display of the Nashville guitarist and songwriter’s estimable skills.

These songs are more personal and dirtier, funkier, and grittier, showcasing his depth in the blues tradition, earned in part through his years on the Chicago scene supporting Jimmy Johnson, Sunnyland Slim, and other legends. And when it comes to Robinson’s sterling guitar work, they’re also more colorful.

“Excellent … serpentine guitar.” Blues Revue

“Fortune Teller”
From The Album Guitar Mark Evangelos
Mark Evangelos

Mark Evangelos started playing guitar in the 1960′s. He backed John Lee Hooker and through the ’70′s played on
shows with Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, and other
blues greats. Mark would sit in with Muddy Waters when Muddy toured through Western, NY.

Muddy Waters considered Mark Evangelos to be one
of the most soulful blues guitar players of that era. Mark
was in The Luther Johnson Chicago Blues Band
and a member of James Peterson’s Blues Band.

Evangelos style is similar to the high energy of the blues guitar players of the 1960′s such as Albert King, Otis Rush and Eric Clapton. If you enjoy this style of blues music you’ll appreciate Mark Evangelos style.
