“Bobcat Woman”

From The Album Deal With It
4 Jacks

There’s hardly enough room here to list the accomplishments of these 4 great artists, only that the whole is even better than its parts.

Texas guitar legend Anson Funderburgh is consider by his peers as one of the very best blues guitars to come out of Texas, that puts him in some mighty fine company. Anson has been a major part of the blues scene with his band ‘The Rockets’ for over 30 years.

Washington D.C based Big Joe Maher is a one time label mate of Anson’s on the old’ Black Top Records’ label. Drummer/vocalist Big Joe Maher also leads his own band ‘the Dynaflows’ and has several great CDs out on the Severn Records label.

Many of you may know keyboardist Kevin McKendree for his many years as Delbert McClinton’s band leader, Kevin also tours with roots rocker Brian Setzer. Grammy nominated Kevin, recorded, mixed and produced this CD in his studio ‘The Rock House’ and rock it does.

Steve Mackey is the bass player in the new band and his lists of credits are too long to list. Steve is one of Nashville’s first call
session players.

“Softly Let Me Kiss Your Lips”
From The Album Live
Murali Coryell

Murali Coryell is a triple threat contemporary blues artist who can sing, write and play guitar with the best in the business.

As the son of guitar legend Larry Coryell, Murali grew up around the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, & Carlos Santana. In 1995, Murali joined Duke Robillard’s touring band and was quickly signed as a solo artist resulting in the stax/volt influenced Eyes Wide Open.

In 1999 Murali recorded 2120 for Marshall Chess in which Rolling Stone named Murali “One promising new hound”.

In addition to touring with his own band, Murali has toured as a featured artist with Larry Coryell and Joe Louis Walker.

“Killer”
From The Album Live At Sealy Flats
Jeff Strahan

Since 2002, Jeff Strahan has recorded 6 CD’s of original music, including a live album with 22 tunes that comes close to reproducing the energy that you feel when you’re watching and listening to Jeff Strahan live.

He masters the Stratocaster along with the best of them and does equally well playing keys. Sometimes he does both at the same time.

Now he makes music full time, playing all over Texas, with frequent tours to other parts of the United States. Throw in a thirst for writing songs that he can play in front of people, a spirituality that has guided him his whole life, and the intelligence to make it all come together, and you’ve got an Americana act that translates around the globe.

“Two Girl Friends”

From The Album Guitar Mark Evangelos

Mark Evangelos

Mark Evangelos started playing guitar in the 1960′s. He backed John Lee Hooker and through the ’70′s played on shows with Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, and other blues greats. Mark would sit in with Muddy Waters when Muddy toured through Western, NY.

Muddy Waters considered Mark Evangelos to be one of the most soulful blues guitar players of that era. Mark was in The Luther Johnson Chicago Blues Band and a member of James Peterson’s Blues Band.

MarkEvangelos style is similar to the high energy of the blues guitar players of the 1960′s such as Albert King, Otis Rush and Eric Clapton. If you enjoy this style of blues music you’ll appreciate Mark‘s style.
